I purchased this 2-light setup a year ago. For the price, this is a very good product if you take care not to 'bully' the thing. One thing I have not been able to do is figure out how to get the "adjust up to 70 inches" part to work. There are (3) thumb screws on the stand. The bottom thumb screw allows the spreader stand legs to be opened and locked. Moving up the stand, the 2nd thumb screw allows the main section of the stand to telescope up to around 5 feet. The mystery is: there is one more thumb screw at the very top where the light holder attaches. I've tried everything, short of pliers, to pull the nested top section up to allow the full 70 inches of height, but no luck. Question: does this 3rd section telescope upward? Why is there a 3rd thumb screw at the top? What is it's purpose?

I must say I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of this gear. Granted, it's very cheap for lighting gear....but, it's better than I expected for the price. I used it immediately on a photo shoot with a model and I liked the results and can't wait to use it again. I will say that the lights are not THAT bright...they will not overpower natural light. So, I still have to give them a try in a darker setting...but, I expect they will be really nice side lights and back-lights in conjunction with my off-camera flash. Worth the $80 for sure if you're just needing something basic to get going and to practice with. Eventually, upgrading will be necessary...but, for now, I am very pleased!

Not bad overall, we will buy more in the future.
Good for entry to mid level still and product DIGITAL photography.
Good points:
Compact for storage when not in use
Fairly sturdy
Nice height range
Good wattage daylight CFLs for digital imaging
Long cordage
Bad points:
Assembly directions suck (none)
Light umbrella shaft should be 6" longer
Base could be wider.

I received it in great condition, i got it sooner than i thought, perfect for my home studio, as an amateur profesional photographer i would have to rate this 5 stars, its easy to set up and very practical, the only thing that i didnt like was that it had a loosebroken bulb, but i got the replacement inmediately and perfectly wrapped in perfect condition, i would highly recommend this product, very reliable, im happy with it.
