Excellent value for money for providing fill light in a simple studio set up. Quite light, so far easier to carry around for gigs and wedding photo setups

When you order this it requires a signature upon delivery. So make sure that happens or you need to go pick the product up a UPS location.
My review is coming from an experienced photographer. I purchased this to take photos of my artwork that is sold in galleries nationally. I normally would take photos outside on an overcast day. I have not been able to make this product work for me. I do plan on giving it another try.
Positive: 1. Light bulb is plenty bright. In order to see it's brightness you must set up a fairly dark background and room. 2. The cord is super long. It worked for my needs. Make sure you do have additional cords. 3. The stand is plenty tall and fairly sturdy.
Negative: 1. It did not come with directions. You can figure out how to assemble.
Overall I think this is a good product. I purchased b/c of the inexpensive price. I'm sure it would fine for portraits. Although you might need 2 of them for that.

Not a bad set-up for the money. As another reviewer mentioned, there are no directions in the box, so set-up is a mysterious adventure and I still don't know if I have things pointed in the right direction. This unit is definitely not "professional" as the description would indicate, but it is a good value nevertheless.

Even though the light isn't very bright, I wish I had bought two. It's perfect quality for my needs.

As other reviewers said, this is not the brightest light but works well as a kicker or backlight. We paired it with another item, the 2 lights w/ stands and filters, and it works nicely as a basic photo/video kit. We are using it to record interviews.

For $40 I was pretty impressed with this. It is light weight and it clearly would not take a lot of punishment but good for the $ all the same.

This is an inexpensive lighting system for someone who needs something very basic. I was expecting a better lighting system. However, but the packaging came with no instructions for assembly or use so once set up, I am not sure if I am using it correctly. The notes on this item recommend 5500K Daylight Balanced Photobulb but they are not sold here and are fairly hard to find anywhere online. So again, I am not sure if the one I bought is actually the best for this. I think is mediocre, but nothing fabulous. The bulb seems to be a little dim, I was hoping for a lot more light. :(

Although this lighting kit is great for the price, it falls very short of \"studio quality\".
The stands and reflectors are fine. They are fairly sturdy, and they are the reason for the large shipping box. I think that if the manufacturer could figure out a way to supply either by turning it into a fabric couterpart, they would.
The reflector covers are made of cheap nylon, and they do a fine job of diffusing the light. But the drawstring design is imperfect, as they slip off easily, and they are hard to install.
The light bulbs are fairly bright, they cast good light, but the set ships with 1 bulb short for all sockets, and some bulbs are loose and I\'d not be suprised at all if lts of people were shipped product with non-working bulbs. My bulbs were all good, but half of them were loosely built (the glass of the bulb rattles around inside the plastic socket part of the bulb).
Make sure you use a long-corded power plug strip with this set. You\'ll need it.
Overall, it\'s definitely easy to use, and it\'s cheap. The value is there. But don\'t expect anything high-end or easy to set up. You get what you pay for.
