This skin is very nice. It's a lot thinner than I expected it to be. It's probably about as thick as 3 sheets of 20 lb printer paper. I can't imagine that it would interfere with any docking device. It might, but it would have to be a pretty tight fitting dock for it to not fit. The skin is very thin but also very robust. Looks great (carbon) and feels great. Laying the iPad down on a table is a worry free event with this installed. It doesn't cover the corners, just the back, which is what I wanted. Mine didn't come with the promised clear cover for the apple logo or the cleaning cloth. I'd have liked to have had the clear skin but didn't get it.
Installation takes a little care. I lined up the apple logo as best I could and went from there. I got lucky and it lined up almost perfectly with the edges. Any error lining up the logo would be compounded at the edges, so if I were doing it again, I'd get someone to hold the skin up for me and start it about 1 mm from the edge at one end and lay it down from there. Another tried and true method,used for applying vinyl stickers, is to fold back a small part of the backing, just enough to get the edge started. Once one end is secured, then peel off the rest of the backing and smooth down the skin carefully as you go. Go down the middle of the iPad first, then do the left and right edges carefully. You can remove it and start over if you don't get it right.

This item completely dressed up my device....it is very easy to apply and will protect the backside of the iPad. It will not however protect the front side, so take that into account when considering the purchase. Visually, though, nothing beats the level of appearance.

Really nice way to protect the back of an iPad from scratches and make it easier to hold. Sticks really well but can be removed without gumming up the back of the device.

I've been using this skin (the carbon version) on my iPad for a little over a week now and am very happy with it. Like most people, I use my iPad every day, many hours a day and in every room of the house. I was mainly looking for something very thin and very light to keep the iPad from getting scratched when I set it down. This skin is exactly what I was looking for. For all intents and purposes its like it's not even there, but it still provides a little bit of a nicer grippy surface on the back and good protection. It looks pretty sweet too. (i didn't apply the little clear protector for the Apple logo but its nice that they included one)
