Simply put, this would work great if you didn't have to put the phone in it. Once the phone goes in it, it gets too heavy for the support. It falls out of place, and pulls the unit out of 12V socket. If it had an extra support to hold it, it might work. However, as it is now, I'm junking it after a week.

I give this five stars because despite some minor glitches, it's a really good deal.
I spent about three weeks with the griffin iTrip AutoPilot FM Transmitter which is a decent product, but holy crap, it's $79 at BB. Absolutely not worth it. This product offers the same features minus the ability to have three preset stations which could be very useful. BUT, on top of haveing the same features, it places the ipod right up next to your radio(depending on where your AC port is) which is another thing I found to be very useful.
I haven't experienced any of the problems noted with the adjustable neck or the ac plug but i have an accord and the ac is right under the radio which is about perfect. the signal may or may not be strong; i live in a semi-rural area, so there aren't as many competing radio stations as in more metropolitan areas, but it seems to be just fine even when travelling. Actually, I've noticed more interference with the Griffin at intersections and driving anywhere near anything like an electrical hub or under large power lines.
The only glitch that I've noticed is that if I leave the ipod in the device; when I start the car again and push play, sometimes the signal doesn't reach the radio. I have no idea why; the transmitter is still on and on the same station, it just doesn't transmit, but as soon as I skip up or down one deviation on the frequency selector and then back to the station it was on, the signal is clear as day.
Also, it is pretty top heavy and can move a little out of place by itself, but not much. I'm using a 4th gen ipod nano in the belkin clear hard case and it fits snug..not as snug without the case. I imagine the top-heaviness would reach a threashold with the heaviest ipone/pod..just something to think about.
Great product, i'm VERY happy with it considering the price.

Good product for the money. I got this for 15.99 dollars so i can\'t complain too much about the sound quality. If you turn your iPod all the way up and then adjust the volume on your radio it takes all the static out. Still it\'s not perfect \"Dolby surround sound\" or anything, but I can\'t complain for 15.99 bucks. That\'s why the high rating.

For the Price I got it, it's a good deal. I only have problems with it staying in the socket since I take hard turns. Other than that its a great deal.

You can't beat this with a stick!!
16 bucks for this is UN-BE-LIEVABLE!!!!
A fine, fine product.

The product came wellpackaged, no issues in the shipping.
Overall, I am very impressed with the simplicity with which this works, like the fact that you can hear the music just by plugging in the connector, which charges the phone as well.
I do have problems sometimes with a bunch of static and hissing while speaking on the phone. I have tried a few different frequencies but seem to be getting the hiss.
Would have also liked the goose pipe to be a little longer, probably twice as long would be very useful and convenient.

So this product sounds great, but its is very sensitive. Every bump that I hit the connector comes out a little, and also for some reason that I just don't understand it will pause my Ipod all the time. It pauses it around 5x in one song. Also when it pauses it stops playing the song through the car stereo system for a few seconds after I have already pushed the play button again. Very annoying.

I received mine and same thing I saw in the mall for $39.99. Work exactly the same, but just half price here...! very good, I will be back for more.

No problem with mine at all. Product work great as advertised and shipping was fast. Price is amazing, even just the car holder like this in retail store will cost more than $20.00. What a bargain... (I search all over internet and this so far the cheapest in its quality. Good stuff.

Product was defective so I was unable to use it. Threw it away since it would have cost me almost as much to send it back not to mention the PITA associated with returning it. It was shiny though, see I can be positive.

Well made with strong FM signal for my iPhone 3GS. I turn my station to 88.5, which sound very clear from my Honda speakers. The goose extender is very strong, also holds my iPhone pretty good, while driving. So far this last me 2month already and looks like it will last for awhile. Compare to my previous FM transmitter I got from best buy, this is way better and price cannot be beat. 5 stars and A++++ company

After reading the previous reviews, I purchased this item. While it didn't cost much, I am very disappointed. The neck isn't flexible enough to accomodate outlets under the dashboard. The transmitter is NOT strong at all. And the charging adapter got stuck in my iPhone. The only good thing I can say is that the phone does stay in the holder. I would not purchase or recommend this item.
Carlos A. Monday 18 January, 2010
Product id of good quality. The FM stations are staticky at times. The holder is great, my ipod isnt sliding all over the car any more. The holder is top heavy so you have to secure it. Overall not excellent but good product and no different from whats in stores.

This device really works as promised! The sound quality is very good, my iPhone does charge up while I'm using it. The ONLY problem is that the sound comes out of the speakers on the left side of my car much louder than on the right side, so I guess that means the sound is mostly mono. Since I listen to a lot of podcasts & audio books, this is not really a problem for me. If I was using the device to listen to music specifically, I might be somewhat frustrated.
Weiping Z. Tuesday 12 January, 2010
It is cheap in price, do does in quality.
If you want to use GPS in your car, better not buy it. After it is plugged in, both my iPhone and standalone GPS (Garmin) can not find GPS signal. Tried different cars, same problem. Seems the FM Transmitter signal is too strong to prohibit GPS reception.
Marion M. Tuesday 12 January, 2010
Great product so far after a week. The ability to preset any 4 FM frequencys on the dial is great. It has a nice strong transmitter too.
Alex M. Monday 11 January, 2010
Works as advertised. the FM transmitter works very well actually, better than other units I've had. The set frequency stays put regardless if you unplug the unit, which is very convenient (at least I don't need to fiddle with this setting). The gooseneck connector is very handy, and the silicone disk mounted on the tip of the plug keeps the unit stable.
Also, since my ipod touch is inside a silicone cover, it fits tightly on the mount even with the side clamps wide open. Not a significant problem, but I'm thinking on changing the side silicone pads with thinner ones.

Works great in the car and the boat! Couldn't beat the price! Complete order was shipped on time and at a reasonable price.
Philip S. Friday 08 January, 2010
This device works great with a iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. In fact this is the second time I purchased one, for my wife's car. The arm is very sturdy yet still flexible and the device holds the device securely. The audio quality via FM transmitter is decent. I have been using the first one I purchased almost for a year now, so the overall quality of the device is excellent.
Bryan G. Thursday 07 January, 2010
Just got this unit today for my iPhone 3GS. At first, I couldn't get it to play on any station, but for some reason, I removed the audio cord that is pictured going from the FM transmitter to the audio jack on the iPhone and then the music started playing on the radio.
I have no idea how that works, but if you look at the videos, the one with iPhone doesn't use the audio cord either, though the video with the iPod Touch does use it.
Just curious as to how the music is getting from the iPhone to the FM transmitter?
Besides that, the sound is crystal clear. As to the hands free calling, haven't had a call yet.
