connected via USB: If connected to a non-powered USB HUB then external
power adapter (included) is required, otherwise this device can be
self-powered via the USB port. The USB cable comes with 2 Type A

connected via eSATA: You can power this device by connecting the USB
cable simultaneously to draw power from your PC or you can use the
included power adapter. If both interfaces are connected, the drive
